Dennys ( Katy Freeway / TC jester)

While the neighborhood around is mixed, rough and on the rough and tougher side of the highits.
You cant beat the classsic american franchise and chain and big box art of amercia and growth that started back in the 1950s and saw its peak in the 1970s delcine in the 80s and 90s and repentance for its poor past bad taste (and a few expencive lawsuits) you gotta love it

The Monks corner a personal favorite, friendly, donations accepted buddist spirtual temple art gallery constantly evolveing just down the street from Houston Studios. A place that became my own personal jesus christ, and spitual and groth and refuge a Place where zen was achived for me a Personal spot, and spirtual playground where I found enlightment its Like Taft Street coffee the next generation, lost in its roots, a non profit hippie, buddist spirtual anything goes in a OLD a/c warehouse, and the location of the former atomic cafe a Place of worship, zen, growth and enlightment a yummy sushi place down the street makes this my savor and personal jesus christ.

Taft Street coffee, located inside a church, art gallery and nonprofit mega center, with a book store. Is a mixed bit crowd, the yuppies, teachers, 20 somethings, combined with a poetry night, hookia night, and love machine and other odd and obscure groups, is a continusity progressing intresting deverse community that grows and changes with a blink of an eye, a nice place to watch and learn and be a part off. You have your homeless, junkies and other obscure folks, and an occasioanl law enfrocment officer doing paperwork or studying for exams.  cheao eats and nice folks and a safe place to visit and be social and meet and great, in a casual laid back place.

Laquinta Inn & suites (FREE wireless for hotel guests)

Laquinta Inn and suites on wilcrest and the katy freeway (I-10 for out of towners) outside the beltway (8) or sam houston toll way on the outskirts of harris county slightly past spring branch, and the memorial villages lies a Laqunita Inn and obviously a dennys given their tight knit partner ship, one of my favorite hotel chans when traveling alone I enjoy it due to its partnership with dennys the classic allamerican diner, some in some circles perfer I-hop I prefer a seince on noglistia and a simpler time and dennys fits the bill with class, unless you want to go to the waffle house in the hood' which not thats theres anything wrong with the getto I just prefer to lodge somplace nice when traveling. this is the area where I started out in texas, I have fond memories of me and my mother during a trip or two here during her secert relatinshop and unspoken affair which after her death untill now remained burried in memories.

Western Inn (Free wireless in bldg)
$ Very cheap / * Low class and rating use if you must

One of the trashist uglyist and cheap with a attempt of luxury and some trash class sleezy motels inside the 610 loop the smell of smoke, booze and sex fills the air in the many no smoking signs straight out of MAX payne the no smoking signs and obvious signs of city health code rules, and restraunt rules is obvious, the obvious hooker, and occasional truck driver, and the upstairs offices and trucking compays, the nutjobs, the bums and the hookers and the sleeze that fills this hellhole after 9pm has wireless but you might want to bring protection and be gone before dark the only other place with more sleeze and filith is the near by astro inn inn but not the stench of funk, BO and bad sex in the nasty germ invest hallways full of smoke.
